There was a variety of options to work with laser cutting and engraving to incorporate into the logo image and it was understood from the beginning that an anvil forge needed to be used. The business name was not set in stone and so a few ideas were thrown about as below:
A few points were noted that the simplicity was good as well as the square frame but the text needed to be
san-serif.
The above options had plenty to pull from and after we mashed a few options together, understood the idea of what needed to happen and with a few play arounds of fonts and testing the waters on reverse colours...
No existing font was adequate or hit the spot so we just created our own - it has strong and firm lines. Blocky but bold and a clear logo to engrave in small through to large formats.
"M" needed to be a clear "M" and not mistaken as an "N"
Universal identification of a laser was used for the logo and has therefore been used in the Favicon and profile pictures for the various social medias.

The style of business that Beam Forge is often a word of mouth and leaving the contact details at various retailers. When creating the business card, it needed to have as many paths that a person could take to find the company, especially due to it's unique clientele.
The social medias needed to be identified as well as the various places people can purchase the items. There is a variety of products that can be created but most importantly a way to contact the owner to communicate with as it is a largely be-spoke items business.
2023 - The business for Beam Forge has become more steady, the product library has increased tenfold and so a new website providing the consumers to purchase online rather than through Trade Me and Etsy was created with Shopify.
2021 - The requirements for Beam Forge was to represent the various options available for laser cutting and engraving, as the business has only recently begun there are not many product images to work with and so as soon as a product has been created it has been photographed and represented on the website.
There are two ways to purchase goods from the store, online purchases through Trade Me or Etsy and via email. On the main page the first port of call was explaining the options available with the current setup of the Laser Engraver, followed by the two online purchases sites and then the contact details.
Social media has been a big influence on the word of mouth and so a Facebook and Instagram was created to create an avenue for customers to find out the latest updates of product options and/or to inspire anyone with ideas of what they would like to create.
Due to the popularity of the social medias such as Facebook and Instagram there has been an increase of posts and an evolution from just photographs through to reels/videos.
Wingspan Dice Tower by Beam Forge
Avid board gamers that play Wingspan will note the inclusions as a part of the Wingspan Dice Tower design. Throughout the tower there are the 6 different types of food that birds prefer and I felt were important to create the attuned design.
Bottle Opener by Beam Forge
A gift we received inspired this design for the useful tool in the kitchen ie: the Bottle Opener. A simple but very helpful when in dire need utensil that is forever illusive but can now be very easily found on the fridge.
